Good Afternoon!

Today we have the second bride diaries entry and this one comes from the lovely Sabrina who has informed us about her favourite experience so far about wedding plannning. She told us that just being a bride in general has been her favourite part, she thought this was cheesy but we couldn't agree more! Of course being a bride is the best part, you get to boss everyone around and no one can say a thing. It's one of the biggest days of your life, you are marrying the love of your life, it has to be perfect. So don't worry Sabrina, we think your cheese was absolutely neccessary!

The dress. Ultimately, the make or break of your wedding day, but my god is it one hell of a rollercoster ride - or so it was for Sabrina. Ever since she was little, she had pictured her dream dress (I think Sabrina talks for every female when she says this) and she said she had Disney to thank for that. However, Sabrina faced the issue of what she had fantasised about wearing and what her body would allow her to wear. They were completely different! In addition, Sabrina ran the London Marathon in 2015 and lost 3 stone in weight but she told us she was terrible at choosing clothing that suited her figure and that this was no different when it came to the most important shopping trip of her life.

Sabrina looked to her hometown of Perth in Scotland with hopes of trying to find her dream dress. After loacting a small brial boutique, Sabrina tried on her first ever wedding dress. Eeek! It was a Justin Alexander. She described it to us as being a gorgeous ball gown with beaded lace and layered tulle skirt and she said it looked stunning when on the hanger. However, as soon as she tried it on she knew it was not for her as she was drowning in the tulle skirt. Not to mention the reaction from her bridesmaids. Fair to say, it went straight back on the hanger. A few weeks later, she visited her friends bridal shop, which was brimming with the most beautiful designer dresses including Sabrina's favourite, Stella York. After her experience in Perth, she went into it with an open mind and began trying on dresses.

After trying on dozens of dresses which ranged from boho style to fitted sleeves, to no sleeves, Sabrina thought she had found her dress! Hooray! Until, her friend pulled out one last dress... Stella York. At a first glance at the dress on the hanger, she was unsure, especially considering that it was style she would have never imagined going for.

You know when brides say 'you'll know'?... Sabrina knew. As soon as she put the dress on, her stomach resembled a butterfuly sancuary. No other dress had given her this feeling and this is how she knew that it was the one for her. Although, she was still to consult her bridesmaids. After not one, but two bridesmaids crying, the dress hunt was over and the deposit was paid.  Stella York too.. Win!

Sabrina is now focusing on her fitness regime so that she can give the dress all the justice it deserves. Although, she is not alone in this, one of her bridesmaids has devised a boot camp for her! She now has the job of throwing away any trace of chcololate that she has in her house... Oh how we hate to see waste!

The next job she had was finding the shoes! What's better than some Jimmy Choo's? Sabrina is feeling extremely lucky to be walking down the aisle in a pair of Choo's on her big day, and she has her dad to thank for that. Shoutout to Sabrina's dad for that heroic act. In preperation for the big day, she has been rocking the tracksuit bottoms and Jimmy Choo shoes around the house to ensure that they are comfortable to wear on the big day and to avoid blisters.

We then asked Sabrina if she had any advice for any newly engaged bride-to-be's who are still on the hectic hunt for the dress; she told us that for her, it had been a huge learning curve and to keep an open mind and be confident! So, to any of you who are reading this and still haven't found your perfect dress, go into the situation with an open mind and don't be afraid to step out of your comfort zone. You never know, you might be suprised at what style suits you the most!

We hope that you've enjoyed reading Sabrina's wedding dress rollercoster ride as much as we enjoyed hearing and writing about it. Sabrina is a May bride, so hopefully when we do a wedding day entry, we will get to see the highly anticipated Stella York dress!

Happy dress shopping ladies.
